Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is the narrowest access your machinery will get through?

A: Our narrowest mini excavator is 750mm wide so would require close to 800mm in access.

Q: How deep can you dig?

A: Depending on the size of the excavator but on average could excavate to a depth of just over 2 meters. However if required we could get to a maximum depth of 3 meters.

Q: What size posthole auger sizes do you have?

A: Our excavators generally carry on board 300mm, 350mm, 450mm and 600mm size auger attachments. If you require a specialised size auger please feel free to contact us and we can make arrangements to meet your needs.

Q: What happens if it’s raining?

A: When you make an enquiry you will receive a text message with your local operators phone number. Please make contact with your operator if you feel the weather will impact your job. Most of the time our operator would have already touched base with you to discuss what impact the weather has had on your particular job and reschedule the next suitable date for your project.

Q: What happens if you hit rock while digging?

A: Some of our franchisees carry rock and concrete breakers with them so if they were to hit rock the job may take slightly longer but can usually break through most hard surfaces.

Q: Can you remove the soil once you have drilled the holes or finished my trenching?

A: Quite often our franchisees will have a trailer or small truck, which will enable them to remove any excess soil. However quite often we can arrange a Jim’s Skip Bin at a competitive price to complete the job.
